Look for a lock () or https:// as an added precaution. Share sensitive information only on official, secure websites.

Government officials will never ask you to transfer money or disclose bank log-in details over a phone call.

What the public interest is, and how prosecutorial action interacts with it, is a complex topic. Reasonable people often disagree on what the public interest requires in any particular situation. These disagreements only get stronger in difficult cases.
