We live in a fast-evolving world. The past year has been marked by continued tensions and armed conflict, not least the continuation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and now the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. A number of countries have been touched by natural disasters of historic proportions, including earthquakes, wildfires, and cyclones. Some countries witnessed financial crises, including banking crises. Large-scale innovations and acquisitions have taken place in the energy and technology industries. The field of artificial intelligence took a leap forward with the launch of ChatGPT-4. The World Health Organization ended its declaration of COVID-19 as a global health emergency, although it continues to be referred to as a pandemic. In the face of these events, uncertainty has been a key theme.
