On the afternoon of 11 October 2021, a court application was filed on behalf of 17 plaintiffs by the law firm M/s K K Cheng Law LLC against the Attorney-General, seeking to commit the Minister for Home Affairs and Law, Mr K Shanmugam, for alleged contempt of court under s 3(1)(b) of the Administration of Justice (Protection) Act 2016. The solicitor in charge of the case on record was Mr Cheng Kim Kuan (“Mr Cheng”).
