Under Article 35 of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, the Attorney-General is appointed by the President, acting on the advice of the Prime Minister. The duty of the Attorney-General is to advise the Government upon such legal matters and to perform such other duties of a legal character, as may from time to time be referred to or assigned to him by the Government.
The Attorney-General discharges these responsibilities and duties through 5 legal divisions (Civil, Criminal Justice, State Prosecution, International Affairs, Legislation and Law Reform), with the support of the Corporate Services Division and the Information Division.
The following diagram illustrates how the AGC is organised. You may click on each box in the organisation chart to obtain more information about the respective Division or Unit within AGC.
