Organisation Structure

Under Article 35 of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, the Attorney-General is appointed by the President, acting on the advice of the Prime Minister. The duty of the Attorney-General is to advise the Government upon such legal matters and to perform such other duties of a legal character, as may from time to time be referred to or assigned to him by the Government.

The Attorney-General discharges these responsibilities and duties through 5 legal divisions (Civil, Criminal Justice, International Affairs, Legislation and Law Reform and Revision), with the support of the Corporate Services Division, the Computer Information Systems Department and the Library and Resource Centre.
